TOMS RIVER, NJ — The Toms River Regional Schools in conjunction with EmPoWERSomerset and the EmPoWER Youth Advisory Board will present a virtual discussion on teen dating violence.
The event, titled "Love Shouldn't Hurt," is set for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 and is open to Toms River middle school and high school students and their families.
Registration is required (sign up here) and a Zoom link will be provided when you register.
It will include a keynote speaker from Safe+Sound Somerset, a Kahoot game with a chance to win prizes, and door prizes such as airpods given away throughout the event.
"Love Shouldn't Hurt" is being held in recognition of National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. It will explore what a healthy relationship looks like and the warning signs of an unhealthy relationship, which can include not only physical violence but also more subtle behaviors such as emotional and verbal abuse, manipulation and control, and digital abuse.
