Press release from the City of Portland: January 25, 2022 In observance of this day, the City of Portland's City Clerk's Office would like to take a moment to thank all past and present poll workers and volunteers that have aided in the City's efforts to execute the duties of electing our leaders.  "To be a poll worker is to join in the engine that drives democratic institutions; the work is critical to electoral infrastructure and paramount to the success of government," said Portland City Clerk Kathy Jones. "We are greatly appreciative of the tireless effort which our poll workers put forth."  A number of important roles are needed on Election Day, including Election Clerks and Deputy Registrars. No experience is necessary; training will be provided. You do not need to be a Portland resident to apply.
