Press release from the City of Austin: January 24, 2022 Case: 22-0220536 Date: Saturday, January 22, 2022 Time: 11:47 a.m. Location: 7797 Burnet Rd. Deceased: Nathan Limoge, White male, 09/09/1993 Deceased: Christopher Rivers, White male, 05/18/1993 Arrested: Yong Yoon Kim, Asian male, 31-years-old (pictured below) The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified Nathan Limoge and Christopher Rivers as the victims of the homicide at 7797 Burnet Rd. On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at approximately 11:47 a.m., 9-1-1 received a call of a double shooting that had just occurred in the parking lot of 7797 Burnet Rd. APD officers, along with Austin-Travis County EMS, arrived on the scene and discovered two men with life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving measures, both men succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at 11:55 a.m. by Dr. Escott. The men were identified as Nathan Limoge and Christopher Rivers. Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to the scene to interview witnesses and process the scene. Through investigation, homicide detectives came into contact with Yong Yoon Kim. Kim called 9-1-1 and advised that he had gotten into an altercation with two men and shot them in self-defense. Multiple eyewitnesses on scene gave contrary accounts of the shooting. Kim was charged with Capital Murder, arrested, and booked into the Travis County jail. He is currently being held with no bond. On January 23, 2022, the Travis County Medical Examiner's conducted an autopsy and determined the official cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner, homicide.
