Here are the top three stories today in Des Moines: On early Wednesday morning, a fire destroyed one trailer on Des Moines' north side. Just before 2:30 a.m., a 9-year-old reportedly woke up and smelled smoke. The family evacuated safely and quickly called 911, and firefighters responded on the scene. Power had to be cut to all homes in the trailer park and residents were evacuated as firefighters fought the blaze. They were let back in a few hours later after crews left the scene and power was restored. (KCCI Des Moines) Des Moines health officials say that they are struggling with a shortage of monoclonal antibody treatments. The shortage came after the FDA revoked emergency authorization for treatments after they were deemed not effective against the omicron variant. When hospitals have been receiving shipments, they're distributed based on a tiered approach system based on risk level.
