My husband (then fiancé) attended The Citadel and after I graduating college from Coastal Carolina University it seemed like the best fit to move to Charleston for better job opportunities What is your favorite part about leading CYP? My favorite part about leading CYP is the people I get to interact with. Nothing is more exciting than meeting new members and building both professional and personal friendship with our amazing community. When I moved here from Maine/Myrtle Beach I didn't know anyone accept my husband and his circle of friends. Since starting this role, I have been able to connect with so many Young Professionals from various backgrounds and it's just fun to all come together for various programs and networking events. What is your favorite CYP memory? I have a whole list of favorite memories in this role, but one that really sticks out to me is our inaugural CYP Corn Hole Tournament in 2020. It was both nerve-wracking and exciting to launch a completely new event in such uncertain times. We knew we were tired of meeting just over a computer screen, so hosting the CYP Corn Hole Tournament Powered by REV Federal Credit Union at Firefly Distillery has allowed the opportunity to get together in a fun and safe way, while also having some friendly competition and casual networking! I am so thankful for our members and sponsors who believe in our efforts to allow us the ability to think outside the box and each year just keeps getting better! What are you looking forward to most in 2022? Collaboration! One thing I love most about my role is collaborating with our business partners and members! The programs and events that CYP hosts ultimately comes from the ideas and insight our members bring to us. I have an amazing committee of lead CYP volunteers and with their help am able to bring ideas to action.
