Press release from the Chester County Library System:
January 24, 2022
Addison's Disease in dogs is called the great pretender because it mimics other illnesses. If not diagnosed in time, a dog in an Addisonian crisis could die.
Celebrate Canine Addison's Awareness Week 2022 by joining Chester Springs Library Director Nancy Niggel, in a virtual conversation with C.A.R.E. (Canine Addison's Resources & Education); an international organization providing resources and education to improve the lives of A-dogs and empower their owners to advocate on their behalf.
Purebred and mixed breed dogs can be affected with Addison's, but with proper care and medication they live long and happy lives. This conversation will benefit dog owners, veterinarians and those who will be dog owners in the future. Tell a friend and your vet! You never know who you might help by gaining this awareness. It could be your dog or a friend's dog who is not feeling well.
