WEST MIFFLIN — Temperatures might be frigid in January, but the operator of Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild & Soak Zone already are thinking about the summer.
Palace Entertainment is looking to add more than 2,000 seasonal workers for the West Mifflin amusement park, the West Homestead water park and the Westmoreland County amusment park and water attraction.
Kennywood needs the most employees. The West Mifflin amusement park is looking to fill more than 1,000 positions and needs ride operators, food and beverage attendants, park security officers and grounds and housekeepers.
Idlewild & SoakZone in Westmoreland County will hire roughly 700 people for its 145th season.
Sandcastle in West Homestad needs about 300 workers, including aquatics staff, lifeguards, food and beverage, park security and admissions employees.
Sandcastle and Idlewild lifeguard applicants will be paid for the 10-day training certification process.
Pay rates for positions requiring an adult (18 years old or a high school graduate) start as high as $15 at all three parks, plus benefits such as free admission to these and other parks nearby in the Tri-State Area and sister Palace Entertainment parks throughout the country.
Positions such as lifeguard and food and beverage attendants offer even higher starting salarries, Palace said in a news release.
The three parks have plans for on-site job fairs in March, but those interested in a job can apply online now at each park's respective website.
