PITTSBURGH, PA — A Knoxville man is facing multiple charges in connection with last month's shooting outside the Walmart at the Waterworks Mall near Aspinwall. The incident damaged a vehicle and resulted in shoppers wildly scattering amid the gunfire. Pittsburgh police charged John Hayden, 21, with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, a firearms violation, criminal mischief and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. The firearms violation stems from Hayden's prior criminal record, which prohibits him from owning or possessing a gun. The Dec. 14 shooting resulted following an argument Hayden had with another man inside the store, according to court documents. Hayden admitted to firing three shots, police said. Hayden is being housed in the Allegheny County Jail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 7. Be the first to know what's happening in your community and region.
