Press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department: 01/25/2022 8:30 AM On January 24, 2022, at approximately 1:18 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the 9400 block of Riverview Drive in Lakeside for a report of a battery.  When deputies entered the home, they contacted a 50-year-old male identified as Arleigh Clifford Anderson.  Anderson was detained while deputies checked the home. While checking the residence deputies located an unresponsive 79-year-old woman with obvious signs of trauma.  Deputies and firefighters began lifesaving measures on the woman, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.  Anderson was later booked into the San Diego Central Jail for 187(a) PC – Murder.  The motive is still under investigation.  The identity of the woman is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin by the Medical Examiner's Office.
