Winter Social With Chili Cook-Off Set For Saturday In Frankfort

FRANKFORT, IL — The Village of Frankfort will crown a chili champ Saturday, and the Village wants your help to pick the winner. The chili cook-off is part of the free Fire & Ice Winter Social to be held from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort. Free chili tasting is scheduled to start at noon and will go until 2 p.m. or whenever chili runs out, whichever comes first. "This is a great way to bring the community together during the winter months," said Frankfort Mayor Keith Ogle. "I think we all need to get out of the house and have some fun. We have a talented and imaginative group of restaurants here in Frankfort, and I am looking forward to what they will be cooking up." Restaurants scheduled to take part in the clili cook-off include: Cultivate Community Table, Dancing Marlin, Enrico's, Fat Rosie's, Francesca's, Jimmy O's, OPA!, Trails Edge Brewing and The Wine Thief, according to a news release from the Village. Other free activities scheduled for the afternoon include: A live ice carving demonstration.Ice games.Bonfires.Free s'mores and hot chocolate.The Fire & Ice Winter Social is scheduled to take place regardless of weather, so participants should dress appropriately.
