Hoover Residents Part of Champion JSU Marching Band

JACKSONVILLE, AL — Jacksonville State University's marching band, The Marching Southerners, has won the top prize for college bands — the prestigious Sudler Trophy from the John Phillip Sousa Foundation. Several Hoover residents are members of the JSU band, including: Cassidy Norton, Mellophone section.Nolan Rose, Tenor Sax section.Robert Pierce, Tenor Sax section.Isaiah Amos, Trumpet section.Omie Crockett, Alto Sax section.Shay Haynes, Percussion section.The Marching Southerners have also been invited to represent the US in Normandy, France, at the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June 2024.
