Press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office: Joni Money January 25, 2022 Shortly before 5:00 AM today, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 4400 block of Debardeleben Avenue in Fairfield to investigate reports of a shooting.  Upon arrival deputies encountered an 18 year-old male who had been shot multiple times.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  A 23 year-old male who had multiple gunshot wounds, was located nearby.  He was transported to UAB hospital for treatment of his injuries.  His condition is unknown at this time.
