This is a new endeavor by a Woodstock Artist - it is not a scam Open Space Gallery & Events Project is an endeavor to facilitate events for unrecognized artists and performers, and under-heard musicians, poets and writers in the Hudson Valley. We are a democracy of artists who have created amazing visual artworks in our kitchens; composed eclectic music our basements and garages, and have written engaging works in our back yard shacks. We are experiential and experimental in our approach to our art, music and written word - and perhaps, "fringe" or "outsider" in our distinct and diverse approach to our craft. We have a deep commitment to our work and an obligation to share our work with our communities albeit by unconventional means and in off beat venues. We do this in part by seeking safe and inclusive venues for: > "Pop-up" galleries - Artists retaining 100% of their sales > Reading and listening to written works without distinction of persons > Accommodating anyone who wishes to perform their original music works > Free-of-charge or donated-as-you-are-able events for the public In Addition: > Open Space is a not-for-profit, independent entity and is not grant funded at this time. > Open Space will not require "membership" dues or fees. > Open Space is not an artist's "co-op."
