Established in 1900, Seattle Golf Club is an 18-hole private club located in North Seattle. The club is currently in the process of renovating its greenside bunkers along with changes to many of the greens complexes and some tees. Major cart path renovation is also taking place. It is an exciting time in Seattle Golf Club’s history and a unique opportunity to be apart of this milestone. Under the direction of the golf course superintendent and assistant superintendents, greenskeepers perform a variety of tasks related to the daily set-up and maintenance of our 18-hole championship golf course. Full-time greenskeepers use various hand tools, small machinery and mowers to maintain golf course areas that live up to rigorous membership expectations including but not limited to greens, tees, fairways and bunkers. Occasional work with trees, ornamentals, cart paths and dirt work is also expected. Ideal candidates will be able to work and adapt in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes teamwork. Full-time greenskeepers are expected to work well with others in a diverse staff. Punctuality, dependability and solid communication skills are a must. The ability to work in inclement weather and lift 50 pounds is also important. A valid drivers license is necessary. Landscape maintenance experience is strongly preferred but not required. All those with a desire to learn within the turf industry and be a part of a strong team atmosphere with one common goal are encouraged to apply. Hours are generally 6:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday, with every third weekend also required (usually for a four-hour shift each day but can occasionally be longer). Other overtime opportunities are available on occasion and sometimes required. Responsibilities: Candidates will be expected to learn and participate in all aspects of golf course maintenance. Initial responsibilities include the likes of walk-mowing of greens and tees, bunker maintenance and debris clean up, with more intricate tasks being assigned when appropriate.
