Description

Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain. It is not understood exactly what causes fibromyalgia but it is thought to involve abnormal pain processing in the brain. Fibromyalgia affects 2-4% of the population, predominantly women although men can also be affected. The condition is diagnosed by a history of widespread pain in multiple areas of the upper and lower body accompanied by symptoms such as fatigue, disturbed and unrefreshing sleep, psychological distress, headaches and mental fogginess. Fibromyalgia can cause the muscles to be painful to the touch and can make it difficult for the person to carry out their usual daily activities. Often pain medication is not helpful and there is a need for better medications to treat this condition. Summit Research Network is currently seeking individuals to participate in investigational medication research studies for Fibromyalgia. If you are selected, all research-related care and study medication will be provided at no cost and compensation averaging up to $825.00 may be available. The amount of compensation depends on the trial. Please call us at 503-228-CARE (2273) or visit us at.
