Looking for small dog, not worried about age or breed

My daughter's 11th birthday is coming up and I'd like to get her a new fur buddy. We have a chihuahua and he is 5. She is great with him and he could use a buddy too. I'm not worried about getting a full blooded anything or age. It does have to be a smaller dog so our chihuahua won't get spooked and we don't have a big enough place for a bigger dog.
