Established home and commercial building inspection company is currently searching for an analytical, detail-oriented inspector with a commitment to outstanding customer service. Job Duties • Represent the company professionally and in a friendly manner • Perform home and commercial property inspections based on industry standards. Inspections typically include, but are not limited to: o Roof o Plumbing o Electrical system o HVAC system o Crawlspace or basement o Attic o Appliances o Structure • Document condition of properties by preparing inspection reports using our software. • Verbally explain contents of report and condition of properties to clients in a positive, friendly and educational manner at end of inspection and be available by phone for questions if necessary • Adhere to safety and ethics guidelines and policies at all times Skill Requirements • Analytical mindset and a strong attention to detail • Commitment to quality and consistent customer service • Exceptional work ethic and strong values and principles • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, climb ladders and easily enter areas such as crawlspaces and attics • Strong oral and written communication skills • A working knowledge of computers and dedication to learning our inspection software • A current driver’s license with valid insurance and reliable transportation • Experience in construction, engineering or technical areas is a plus, but not required (will train the right person) • Availability to undergo required training and licensing procedures • Have Oregon home inspection license or have ability to obtain. Compensation / Misc, • Pay structure is based on a % (50% to inspector; increases to 57% if you solicit your own clients) of the fee charged for inspection so can vary dramatically based on the number of inspections performed. A typical inspection fee averages $450-$500 and can take 2-3 hours onsite and 1-3 hours for the report writing. • Schedule can vary by time of year and economic factors given industry (i.e. slower in winter season) • All expenses paid except for car (and all associated auto expenses such as maintenance, mileage, insurance, etc.), home internet access, meals & entertainment (unless approved prior for broker meetings), cell phone and your licensing requirements / fees. • We currently do not offer health insurance. • Paid training starts at $20 per hour and then transitions to % of inspection fee once you are inspecting without assistance (would need license at that time). • 401K offered with 5% employer match.
