A Maui based locally owned & operated construction company, specializing in high quality custom homes, renovations, and a variety of commercial construction projects is seeking a full-time Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic team. As our business continues to expand, we are seeking to hire an industry experienced Construction Superintendent, with a high level of professional drive and customer focus; and a desire to grow with our company. The ideal candidate will manage all critical processes as it relates to full general contracting of our projects. The Construction Superintendent will coordinate all onsite construction activities to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest level of quality, supervising all trade and field personnel while administering good construction safety practices. This position reports directly to the Project Manager/Construction Manager. Responsibilities: • Oversee the simultaneous construction/renovation of multiple projects through the scheduling, coordinating, and supervising of subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality craftsmanship of every project. • Provide detailed daily project reports. • Proactively and efficiently communicate with a variety of parties such as subcontractors, vendors, and clients throughout the build process. • Conduct daily inspections to ensure that all workers and subcontractors are completing their assigned tasks, meeting building codes, and adhering to safe working practices. • Manage project build schedules and proactively identify and solve problems. • Promote job site safety and encourage safe work practices. • Maintain clean and organized job sites. • Provide vendor or subcontractor feedback concerning the timeliness and attention to detail. • Consistently communicate construction progress and completion date to the company. • Build rapport with client and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the building process. Qualifications: • 5+ years’ experience in building and construction. • Experienced in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and all phases of construction. • Ability to read and understand blueprints and specification documents. • Ability to independently problem solve. • Ability to multitask while managing multiple projects within firm deadlines. • Highly organized, with a systematic approach to achieving accuracy and efficiency. • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality. • Refined time-management skills and ability to operate with a sense of urgency. • Enjoys building and working with people. • Possesses strong communication skills and effective listening skills. • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to safely climb ladders to check subcontractor work.
