Assistant Auto/Diesel Mechanic needed. Position will be full time 40 hours per week. Responsibilities: The candidate will assist in basic lubrication and general maintenance and repairs of construction equipment under the supervision of the Head Mechanic. Candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of mechanical skills and problem solving. specific mechanical training is not needed and will be provided. Working hours are between 7:00-3:30. The employee will have an opportunity to work overtime on emergency occasion. This would be a great job for a recent Tech School Grad or anyone looking to start a career in Mechanics. Bilingual Spanish/English Necessary. Job will be pay per hour based on experience. Some Duties and Responsibilities: • Using manual and computerized diagnostic methods to identify potential problems • Explaining mechanical problems and possible solutions to management • Planning work and testing procedures using charts, experience, and other organizational methods • Testing parts and systems to ensure they work correctly • Ensuring all critical parts are checked and tested • Performing basic automotive care, including changing oil and rotating tires • Picking up parts from local vendors • Repairing or replacing worn, old or defective parts of a car • Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues • Provide daily inspections of vehicles and inform Management of any issues • Prepare quotes and get pricing from local vendors. • Keep an accurate log of all work performed • Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition • Adhere to company work safety policies • Maintain a computer maintenance program for all Feet including all equipment
