Description

License Plate Readers and UCF Department Threat Management Team We are going to have a two-part presentation, but they actually overlap some. Chief Metzger will do a quick welcome at the start of the meeting. Each presentation can be tailored, but will likely be kept to about 30 minutes each before any questions. After the event concludes, anyone wishing to remain for a 30 minute EOC and agency tour is welcome. Detective Melissa Guadagnino and Detective Alex DeLuca, along with Director of Security Management Steven Freund will outline the Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR) for UCF. The presentation will piggyback on OPD’s recent presentation to the group, including the system functions itself, how to implement the system within your city or county, costs associated, and successful case studies. This system not only has assisted in both prevention and response to criminal incidents, but those incident involving mental health and active threats to the community. Detective Corporal Luis Rivera, along with Sergeant Adam Casebolt, will outline the UCF Police Department Threat Management Team. The presentation will review the evolution of the program from inception, the function of the team, how it can be implemented within your organization to help continue to build a regional partnership to prevent active shooters and crisis incidents well before they occur. UCFPD has directly intervened to prevent mass casualty incidents, with arrests, prosecutions and even deportations of foreign nationals, as a result of this teams work.
