Starts March 23rd (Wednesdays, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for 6 weeks) Starts March 23rd (Wednesdays, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for 6 weeks) In this series, beginner and intermediate students will review construction techniques for coil, soft slab, paddle and pinch while focusing on finishing statements, additional glazing systems and aesthetic choices--they all make a difference! Come play with us and learn to listen to the clay. Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200.  Fee does not include materials. Clay will be three dollars a pound which covers basic glazing and firing costs. NOTE: COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our teachers and students, including wearing masks while inside the building. About the instructor: Lee Cummings has had twenty years as a production potter, taught at Germantown Academy and Unity College, and had a one person show at the University Museum in Bangor as well as sold through Littlefield Gallery and Greenhut Gallery. Artascope at bec is a 501(c)(3) organization that raises money for experiential education programs by offering art classes and studio memberships in Yarmouth, Maine. We provide a relaxed, supportive environment to the broader community where individuals can share their work, ideas, and discoveries with one another.
