From my first trip down the Kentucky Bourbon Trail I became fascinated with the process of making Bourbon and other spirits. The more I visited the many distilleries in Kentucky, and the smaller craft distilleries in several states, I became convinced that someday I would handcraft my own spirits. Starting with only an eight gallon still and a passion for creativity, I have created a variety of fine spirits, using locally grown grains and ingredients where possible. My dream finally became reality in May of 2018 when I purchased a small craft distillery in Middletown, Ohio formerly known as Liberty Spirits. With its 100 gallon still, I am now able to fulfill my dream of producing high quality spirits to be enjoyed by all. The name 'The WhiteDog Distilling Co' comes from (1) the distilled spirits from the still, before it goes into the barrel is called 'whitedog' and our dog, Kody is a white dog, giving dual meaning to our company name. Because Middletown is currently going through a rebirth of the downtown district, I have decided to dedicate my first spirits to the City of Middletown by releasing the “Olde Middletown Series”. The label designs are scenes from Middletown when its downtown area thrived, and local industry was at its peak. I hope you will join me for a fun night of Bourbon tasting as we explore the distilling process and how Bourbon became our "National Spirit".
