The Conference on the Church for God's Glory. A one-day conference for church leaders. Hosted by First Baptist Church in Rockford, IL. Dear Pastors, Deacons, and Fellow Believers in Christ, Please mark your calendars for this year’s Conference on the Church for God’s Glory on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Our theme for the day will be “Training the Next Generation of Pastors.” As the church at large looks ahead to many pastors stepping down of full-time ministry, we pray that the Lord will raise up men to shepherd in their place. This one-day conference is meant to be a help to the body of Christ in that regard. Our schedule and sessions for the day: Michael Riley will open the day with an expository sermon.Bob Jones III will look back to speak on “Lessons Learned from Training Pastors.”Kevin Bauder will look ahead to speak on “The Future of Ministerial Training.”David Huffstutler will offer “A Biblical and Practical Model to Find and Train Your Church’s Next Lead Pastor.”David Saxon will give us something historical and practical in “A Pastoral Theology from the Ordination Sermons of Andrew Fuller.”Bob Jones III will then encourage us with a sermon to close the day. For all of the other speakers, they are elder Christian statesmen who have led and taught in their ministries for many years. I trust that they will be a multitude of counselors who help us to establish our plans for training the church’s next pastors. Please be a part of the day. We do not have staffed nurseries for the day, but our nursery rooms will be available mothers who wish to use them.
