Join us for the 6th annual Painters for Pets, a live and silent auction benefitting The Pet Project Midwest. Join us for the 6th annual Painters for Pets, celebrating local art and supporting our mission to feed and keep pets in their homes. Whether you are a pet lover or an art collector, this is the event for you! Painters for Pets features unique artwork from a wide variety of local artists – including painters, photographers, ceramicists, woodworkers, metalsmiths, and more. Hosting both silent and live auctions, we know you will find something to fall in love with. Ticket price includes a snack box provided by Tangerine catering and one drink ticket. Additional alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Details: Date: Thursday, March 10 Venue: Mainframe Studios, 900 Keo Way, Des Moines Time: Event starts at 6 pm, live auction at 6:30. Tickets: Single Ticket: $25. Tickets for Two: $40. The Pet Project Midwest was founded in 2009 by a group of like-minded animal lovers who wanted to help animals (and people) in the community. Working together with existing organizations, they identified gaps in existing services and created programs that fill the gaps. IowaPetAlert.com was their first program; this free service helps reunite lost pets and their people quickly.  The Pet Pantry is a temporary food assistance program that keeps loved pets in their homes and out of shelters.  Paws for Life is a long-term version of the Pet Pantry available to our most vulnerable neighbors - the elderly and disabled whose pet companions are often their only family. AniMeals is a companion program to the human Meals on Wheels program operated in partnership with Wesley Life.  In 2015 TPPM gave out more than 35000 pounds of pet food and shared 5644 postings of lost and found pets! And they did it with no paid employees!
