Delve into local Alamance County black history with a short play created by Burlington-based artist and activist Sylvester Allen Jr.
On February 26th, 1870, Wyatt Outlaw, the first appointed African-American Town Commissioner and Constable of Graham, North Carolina, was lynched in Alamance County by the Ku Klux Klan. On February 24th, 2022 at 7pm, join us for a live screening of Burlington-based artist and activist Sylvester Allen Jr's short 2021 play, which depicts Outlaw's final moments. The play will be followed by a discussion with Wade Harrison, lawyer and historian in Alamance County, among other panelists.
