Join North East Trees in Planting the Next Generation of Urban Canopy and Green Space At LA's Only Youth-led Native Plant Nursery! Join North East Trees (NET) at Ascot Hills Park's native plant nursery to help us propagate and transplant locally sourced native plants and trees from our community's open spaces. All of the invaluable plants the nursery produces will directly support NET-led and community-centered restoration projects throughout the county, but we need help keeping up with their growth! Activities will focus on ensuring all volunteers leave the nursery with a good sense of how to grow and care for native plants and will include: How to sow native plant seedsTransplanting young native plant seedlings into their appropriate pot sizesWatering and keeping with ongoing maintenance of our mature plantsPlanting more native plants and tending to other plants at our new restoration site!No experience is necessary to participate! Help us reach our goal of growing 10,000 local native plants for 2022. Please reach out to us at [email protected] for any questions or concerns! To ensure the safety of our volunteer community, all staff and participants will be expected to wear a mask and to observe social distancing whenever possible.
