Public Safety MHFA provides law enforcement and First Responders tools to identify signs and symptoms of mental health issues. Public Safety Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness, trauma, self-injury, and substance use disorder. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care. It focuses on the unique experiences and needs of public safety personnel and is a valuable resource in their lives, coworkers' lives, and families. Lunch will be provided with light refreshments throughout the day. COVID-19 Protocols will take place and masks are strongly encouraged.
