Join us for a free public information session to learn more about the work of EJI and our local coalition group: LCCRP. Information Session - Lexington County Community Remembrance Project (LCCRP) February 12 at 10am Lexington County Library - Pelion Branch (206 Pine Street, Pelion, SC 29123) “The public narrative a nation creates about what is important is reflected in memorials and monuments. Who is honored, what is remembered, what is memorialized tell a story about a society that can’t be reflected in other ways.” - Bryan Stevenson, Equal Justice Initiative Executive Director The Lexington County CRP (LCCRP) is a growing coalition of diverse community members working to remember the victims of racial terror lynchings in the County. CRPs work under the mentorship of the Equal Justice Initiative (www.eji.org), a nonprofit and legal advocacy organization located in Alabama. The history of racial violence in Lexington County has shaped our community as we know it today. We cannot truly engage in thoughtful, transformational change if we do not understand the past. Join us as we share more about the Equal Justice Initiative and the LCCRP. This meeting is open to the public and is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Lexington County Public Library.
