Description

Press release from Hicksville Public Schools: January 20, 2022 Translate Lee Avenue Elementary School in Hicksville partnered with "One Warm Coat," an organization that provides free coats to children and adults in need while promoting volunteerism and environmental sustainability. Students, teachers and staff contributed to the week-long drive in collecting close to 50 coats for those less fortunate. Those who brought coats were encouraged to include a note of kindness in the pocket of each donated coat. In addition to supporting a worthy cause, the organized effort reinforced the "Lee-O's Law" of being kind to one another. "Lee-O's Laws" are friendly reminders posted around the school for students to be mindful, respectful and kind. First and third grade Lee Avenue Elementary students participated in the school's coat drive in partnership with the nonprofit, One Warm Coat.
