WOODBRIDGE, VA — A mother was arrested in Woodbridge on Friday after her 2-year-old son ingested narcotics, the Prince William County Police Department said. The woman, Taylor Elaine Fisher, is charged with child neglect and possession of a controlled substance. Police responded to a home in the 12500 block of Colebrook Court in Woodbridge around 2:40 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the 2-year-old boy unconscious. Officers performed CPR until rescue personnel arrived on the scene. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not considered life-threatening, authorities said in a report on Monday. During an investigation, authorities determined that the boy ingested the narcotics after his mother left him unsupervised. Detectives with the Special Victims Unit and the Special Investigations Bureau obtained a search warrant and found additional narcotics within the home, according to the police report. The boy's mother, Elaine Taylor Fisher, was arrested. Two other residents of the home, James Fisher and Joseph Fisher, were also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A 5-year-old boy was also in the home and was unharmed. The two boys were turned over to Child Protective Services. Have a story idea?
