HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Tracy Rezvani has been named administrator for the office of consumer protection within the department of community resources and services. Rezvani previously served as investigative programs administrator for the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection where she managed investigations, outreach, advocacy, licensing and other special programs. "Tracy's passion for championing consumer rights, coupled with her exemplary skills in arbitration and advocacy, make her the ideal candidate to lead our Office of Consumer Protection," Howard County Executive Calvin Ball said. "Her skill set will support the important work of this office to protect Howard County consumers by mediating disputes, taking enforcement action and providing tips on how to avoid scams or make smart purchasing decisions." Rezvani has more than 25 years of legal experience in consumer protection law. During her career, she has authored numerous consumer protection publications, volunteered her time to advance consumer protection issues and managed law firms representing consumers, non-profits and small businesses. She currently volunteers as a director of the D.C. Consumer Rights Coalition and has been a panelist for the American Arbitration Association since 2012. "Tracy brings extensive experience in researching, interpreting, and applying consumer protection statutes. And perhaps most importantly, she shares our passion for helping others and serving our community," DCRS Director Jackie Scott said. "Her expertise will strengthen our ability to reach and serve consumers throughout Howard County." "A culture of service doesn't happen by accident," added Rezvani. "It comes through the value we provide our constituents daily. I look forward to providing that value to Howard County's consumer and business communities." Rezvani holds a bachelor's degree in business and management from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School. She is a member of the bar in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.
