MORRISTOWN, NJ — A man was charged for his role in a conspiracy to steal vehicles from a Morristown auto dealership, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday.
Several people stole nine vehicles from the GT Motors car lot in August, according to authorities. A fingerprint at the scene matched Ahjhir Jones, the prosecutor's office said.
Morristown police and the prosecutor's office are investigating further.
Jones, 18, of Newark, was charged Wednesday with the following:
conspiracy to commit theft (second-degree)theft by unlawful taking (third-degree)conspiracy to commit burglary (third-degree)burglary (third-degree)criminal mischief (third-degree)unlawful means of conveyance (fourth-degree) Morristown police responded Aug. 6 for a report of multiple vehicles stolen from the dealership. Video surveillance showed multiple people entering the business and stealing nine cars from the lot, according to the prosecutor's office.
The Morris County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and recovered a latent fingerprint, which matched Jones, authorities said.
Jones was placed in the Morris County Correctional Facility.
