HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - An SUV bounded off a truck, went through an intersection and a traffic signal before hitting a Hackettstown restaurant Tuesday morning, authorities said. Washington resident Jeffrey Heymann, 62, was charged with failure to observe a traffic signal and careless driving. Just before 5 a.m. Heymann passed out behind the wheel of his 2006 Land Rover on Route 57, drove through a red light and slammed into a 2016 Dodge Ram that was travelling south on Route 182, police said. Heymann's Land Rover continued through the intersection, struck a pedestrian signal and then crashed into the front of Budd Lake Bagel & Deli II, police said. The crash caused damage to the building and there were no injuries reported, police said. Before you go: Send a news tip or correction to: [email protected] Subscribe to your local Patch newsletter.
