LEMONT, IL — The Performing Arts Center will play host to the Lemont High School Drama Club's winter play – "Radium Girls" – from Thursday through Saturday. In conjunction with the winter play, the school's Art Department will host an art exhibition themed "The Clock is Ticking" in Gallery 306, the school said. The production of "Radium Girls" is set to run in the school's Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. nightly. Discounted tickets may be purchased in advance online, online tickets can be used any night of the show. If purchased at the door, adult tickets increase to $10. The exhibit in Gallery 306 will be open from 5:45-6:45 p.m. nightly prior to the performances of "Radium Girls" and will spotlight a variety of outstanding work from Lemont High School students, the school said. "Radium Girls" follows the lives of several girls exposed to radium poisoning through their work at a watch dial factory after World War I, the school said. This powerful piece includes some local history, as one of these factories was located in Ottawa. "Radium Girls" will be performed under the direction of Paula Smith and Leslie Kane, while Brett Baleskie and Matt Davis share set construction duties. Those planning to attend any performance of "Radium Girls" may park in the school's parking garage or in the lot outside the Performing Arts Center; both are accessible off of Julia Street.
