DUBLIN, CA — Hi, Dublin! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but often for a reporter, that's part of the job description. This past Friday marked long-time editor Courtney Teague's final day on the job. After over two years working hard to report this community's hyperlocal news, Courtney will soon start a position as the newsletter editor of the Honolulu Civil Beat to report on Hawaii politics. I think I speak for all of Patch when I say we will miss her thorough reporting and upbeat attitude. Patch has not yet found a permanent replacement (if you know anyone good, feel free to get in touch!), but I will be filling in for her until we do, so I just wanted to properly introduce myself. My name is Mike Wittner, and I've been with Patch since 2020. I started off as the Field Editor for a few Patch sites in metro LA, including Malibu, Beverly Hills, and Calabasas. This past summer, I took a brief detour to report for the Beverly Hills Courier, but returned to Patch as a full-time roving editor. Now, I fill in for other reporters on the California team, and cover statewide and breaking news as necessary. Before moving to Patch, I reported for the Jewish Journal in my native Massachusetts, and wrote for my college and high school newspapers. I know I have some big shoes to fill over these next few weeks, but I will try my best to continue Courtney's thorough reporting. If you have any questions, comments, or news tips, feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected]. I look forward to getting to know the Dublin community better! As you can see from the above photo, even though I live in LA, the Bay Area is one of my favorite places in the world, and I'm honored to report its news, if only temporarily.
