Bad driving by local drivers is a frequent complaint, and on Wednesday the Alameda Police Department has big plans for a crackdown. Motorcycle and patrol officers from Alameda County's High-Intensity Traffic Team, HITT, will conduct directed traffic enforcement throughout the City's 700-plus streets. January's traffic focus is impaired driving and next month will be unsafe turning movements, but all traffic violations on Wednesday will be targeted.
