Hello, people of Phoenix! Nicole Fallon-Peek here with your Tuesday issue of the Phoenix Daily. First, today's weather: Partly sunny. High: 70 Low: 43. Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today: The Phoenix Public Transit Department has received nearly $1 million to plan eleven stations connecting four activity centers in Mesa. The money will be used to conduct planning efforts, determine design guidelines, and establish economic strategies. The new grant is in addition to the $17.4 million that was allocated to the Valley Metro Tempe Street Car Project last year to advance the three-mile streetcar plan. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)Unfortunately, Modern Phoenix Week 2022 is no longer happening. According to organization officials, the Week celebrating design and architecture throughout the Valley has been canceled due to the pandemic and rising infection rates. The Modern Phoenix Week 2022 was originally scheduled for the second week of March. (Phoenix New Times)A Phoenix mother has been arrested for allegedly doing drugs near her child. Alyssa Salcido was seen using drugs in a vehicle near the Knights Inn along Interstate 17 on Saturday. Salcido has admitted to using the drugs she picked up at the hotel with her child present in the vehicle. The drug fumes can pose a threat to the health of a child. (ABC15 Arizona) From our sponsor: Last week, we told you about our new favorite non-alcoholic go-to — the refreshingly bitter drinks from our partners at Betera. They're chef-created from natural botanicals, lightly effervescent and worthy of life beyond "Dry January." We mentioned that their Ginger-Orange was excellent; we've since tried Elderflower-Lime and loved it as well — light and floral with the perfect amount of zing. We're converts. Enough of you took Betera up on their 15% discount on first orders for Patch Daily readers that they've extended the offer for another week. Use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — try Betera here.
