Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, says 18-year-old Tobias Alexander Clark was arrested Friday evening and charged with capital murder. He was jailed without bond.
Clark is the third suspect arrested in the killing of 16-year-old David Martin Jr. on Valley Hills Drive in Northport. Martin was shot as he sat in his car and died shortly thereafter from his injuries.
A juvenile was arrested and charged last week with capital murder in connection to the shooting, along with Ladamien Rogers-Wallace, 18.
The initial call of the shooting near 43 Valley Hills came in to the Northport Police Department at approximately 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17.
Kennedy told media at the time that one person — later identified as Martin — was found to have been shot multiple times, including in the chest, while sitting in his vehicle.
Martin later died from his injuries that evening, shortly after being transported to DCH Regional Medical Center.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit continues to investigate the fatal shooting and Kennedy said anyone who witnessed or has any information in regards to the shooting is asked to contact investigators immediately at (205) 464-8692.
