Morey Remodeling LEAD CARPENTER JOB SUMMARY: Advanced carpenter with at least 5 years of experience in the construction field who has the ability to perform physically demanding work consistently. Position requires ability to read and understand construction plans, install stud wall framing, advanced finish carpentry skills, good communication skills, integrity, clean driving record, and specific tools. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ∙ Be able to understand blueprint drawings, elevation drawings, and written specifications. Also understand work orders, change orders, and all other carpentry related job documents ∙ Perform rough and finish carpentry to company’s standard of quality and according to the plans and specifications ∙ Solve problems from discrepancies and special conditions that may arise ∙ Be able to lay out and install stud wall framing ∙ Be able to lay out and install stairs both for interior and exterior use with use of a framing square ∙ Establish grades for proper drainage of flatwork and simple structures ∙ Ability to use a transit level to establish grades and elevations ∙ Install standard wall hung and base cabinetry and accessories ∙ Install pre-hung door units and windows ∙ Install drywall and properly tape and mud drywall sheathing ∙ Ability to perform simple repairs in painting, staining, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and flooring ∙ Install door, window, and base molding. ∙ Be responsible for the efficient use of the company’s time, manpower, and materials on each project ∙ Maintain open communication with the project manager on a daily basis ∙ Work with and train apprentice carpenters ∙ Ensure the image of the company is supported by the appearance and activities of the installation teams and job-sites ∙ Maintain a safe and clean job-site JOB REQUIREMENTS: ∙ High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) ∙ Valid California Driver’s License ∙ Reliable work vehicle for commuting and tool storage TOOLS REQUIRED: Skill saw Chop saw Miter Saw Table Saw Saw Horses Cordless drill with drill bits Router Belt sander Grounded extension cord Drywall screw gun Chisels Screwdrivers 4’ Level Square Attitude: ∙ Enthusiastic ∙ Positive ∙ Confident ∙ Takes responsibility ∙ Financially driven ∙ Goal oriented ∙ Resilient – able to bounce back from rejection ∙ Client focused ∙ We vs. me focused ∙ Self-starter ∙ Open to change ∙ Friendly
