Description
HI,
Ever feel like something is too good to be true? Like Farhad from Green Drop Garage's "howdy neighbor" emails. They are.
I have been a loyal customer to them for years, even signed up for the Members program. A couple years ago, my car's time in the garage seemed to increase when I brought it in. Instead of taking 1 day (as scheduled), it would be 2, sometimes 3, with excuses usually based on supply issues due to the pandemic. Perhaps true, perhaps disorganization on their part.
Then I left due to a number of issues, including poor communication, condescending attitudes, and the afore-mentioned increase of time in garage - even when work had been planned weeks in advance.
Turns out, a number of the time consuming repairs they "did" were actually never done!
That's right! The first time I took my car to a new, reputable garage, they showed me a list of things that needed to be replaced that Green Drop had supposedly already replaced. All that time in the garage was to keep me waiting for me car so I THOUGHT work was getting done. Numerous calls with the slick guy who cleans up their messes happened but no one ever actually said sorry for stealing your money, and keeping my car in their garage for days at a time.
Green Drop in SE Portland is a sham. Maybe they get some of the work done for some of their customers, but if you check Yelp reviews, you'll see they have been pulling these kind of stunts for a while. Can't speak for the other locations but they are all run by the same guy. And when you notice his "Howdy neighbor" emails are a little less frequent, maybe that's because he's writing from somewhere far away that is not exactly in the neighborhood, or even the same continent.
Don't trust them with your car.
A once-loyal customer.
