A fine cat who is available for adoption

**Please read this entire post before replying.** I have a very fine cat who deserves more than he is getting at my home. I love him, but I think he would be happier with someone else because I am doing some travelling now, and want to do more, and he is left at home alone. I can only afford to have someone come in daily to feed him and scoop the litter box, not to live here and pet-sit while I am gone, and some of these times are weeks in duration. I do not think this is fair to him because he gets lonely. He is neutered, 10 years old, completely healthy, and beautiful. Does not scratch furniture if he has a scratching pad. He is not destructive. He is affectionate and likes to lie on a lap and sleep on the bed. He's very playful and will fetch a ball. He gets along with dogs if they like cats and are respectful but *absolutely cannot* live with another cat. An ideal situation would be a retired person or couple who are home a lot and do not take long trips away from home. If he could be the only pet and get all the attention he would be happiest. And this needs to be a permanent home. Please note that since I do not have to give him up I am not in a hurry. I won't give him up until I find an excellent placement for him. Please do not respond if you are not willing to do the following: Write me a paragraph explaining your situation and why you would like to have him. Answer questions I will have to determine if your home would be good for him. I have absolutely no interest in being nosy, I just want him to be happy. And let me come to your home so that I could see where he will be living. He would come with toys and cat litter and box and food and anything else I have that is his. I do not want money for him, my only focus is for him to have the best possible home. Photos on request. He is a medium-small semi-long hair black and white cat with an unusual tail.
