What happened to CL bands/musicians?

Description

Years ago, I found some very nice people on CL for bands. Of course, there were a few that just didn't work out, but they were still very nice people. Have lifelong friends I met through here and even some who have moved away we still stay in touch. What happened? I've not looked for maybe 5 years but recently been looking a band for months only to find some very dishonest and weird situations. I'm a singer and guitarist and have been looking for both, plus I’ve tried finding musicians. If you advertise "Established band" it should mean the BAND has been around a long time and played gigs, probably known by club/bar owners in your local area, etc. It does not mean a couple members are OLD and been playing for 50 years but your band has not played out anywhere and doesn’t even have a name. Phone number: Give me a phone number so we can talk. I’m not going to your audition by exchanging anonymous emails through the CL email system. Use a burner phone number if worried. And if I'm chosen to be your singer, I'm probably not going to sing YOUR setlist without changes. Every professional has their own vocal range and songs they sound best. Don’t just give me 4-5 of your songs to learn for an audition. Let’s find some common ground and you learn a couple of my favorite songs too. Everyone needs skin in the game and would make band members ask more questions prior to auditions which usually saves everyone more time. If you send me videos of the band, please make sure it is your current band. You looked pretty cool at age 30...but you are in your 50's now. You are NOT a nationally known recording band; please do not try to tell me you are or act like you are. Please have a singer answer questions for a singer. And, as a guitarist, please have your guitarist answer the ad/questions if you have a guitar player already. It is a hobby for me. I tell everyone before committing but somehow a band doesn't want to hear that when they schedule the “big” gig without everyone’s ok which happens to be on my child’s birthday party. And I'm not perfect either but I am very honest. And I know people looking bands are just as bad and overstate their abilities as well. I’ve been on that side too. Honesty and integrity seem to be a thing of the past on all sides except a few here and there.
