The upcoming presentation features Brenda DeVita, artistic director for American Players Theatre. Located in Spring Green, American Players Theatre staged its first production, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” in 1980. The theater would eventually grow to become one of the country’s most popular classical theaters, welcoming more than 110,000 patrons each season and lauded by the Wall Street Journal as the “best classical theater in the country.” On March 1, Artistic Director Brenda DeVita will share insight into how she continues to advance APT’s mission of bringing the classics to a varied audience, the diversity and inclusion initiatives within APT, and the challenges and opportunities facing the theater.
