Blue heeler male Australian cattle dog (Sacramento area) We have a 3½ year old blue heeler boy. We rescued him with the intent to rehab and re-home him. He has made great strides in the time we have been his family. He has lived with 1-4 dogs at any time here. He doesn't care for strange dogs, but may do ok with a roommate with a proper and slow introduction. His only hang up is cat's. NO CAT'S!! He is crate trained and seems to enjoy it. He doesn't really do well on a leash, but he can be walked by a firm handler. His best form of exercise is fetching his ball. He loves to play with his housemates too. Please know that he is not a dog park guy. He is a happy man just being able to hang out with his people. He is a great protector of his people and property. He will let you know when someone or something is there. He likes our grandkids,who are 7-12. He's not really a chaser or nipper. With initial supervision he is very trustworthy with most people. He needs a handler who is in charge. He really loves himself and wants you to provide the rules first and then the love. He is neutered and has all shots including rabies.
