Description
Training provides an overview of site logistics & the media packet for the 2/16 event. Both Site Contacts and Media Contacts should attend. Media Contacts The media contacts will be the public face of the event. It is preferred that they have an established history of working with the media. 1. Media communication and coordination tactics will be outlined. 2. Outreach to other local organizations. The lead organization (possibly with the help of other local organizations) will duplicate enough media packets for their local media and potential partners. If they are incapable of doing that, they should let One Human Family know in advance so that we can assist with the replication and distribution of those media packets. If possible, the Media Contact should organize publicity on social media. A digital flyer, website and hashtag will be forthcoming in the media packet for social media publicity. 3. Media Contacts will arrive at the site ½ hour early on February 16th, 4:30 pm, to be available for media interviews. Local lead organizations are invited to recruit local other local co-sponsoring organizations 4. Local co-sponsoring organizations are encouraged to publicize the event. Co-sponsorship is free of charge. Organizations wishing to have their names included in future publicity should email [email protected] Local co-sponsoring organizations may be invited to join in the local planning of the event. 5. Local organizations will be responsible for obtaining enough pieces of donated fabric for every anticipated attendee. The fabric will be “ripped” at strategic times during the event to symbolize the fraying of the fabric of our society due to the nature of the current legislative actions. 6. The Local lead Organization is responsible for moderating the in-person event. They should welcome those in attendance and make sure that they are connected to the statewide Zoom and participate as needed in the program. The details of the program will be provided with notes on how they can facilitate the participation of those in attendance at their site. Media Contacts and Organizational Partners are the lifeblood of this event! One Human Family of the Quad Cities Area is an organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in the Quad Cities area. Our mission is to welcome and protect the life, dignity, and human rights of all people in all places in our community.
