The Fred & Beverly Dukes Concert Series presents on Sunday, February 6, at 4 p.m., Mariachi Aguilas de Bakersfield Mariachi Aguilas de Bakersfield was founded in January of 2015 by Juan Lopez. The ensemble consists of local, passionate, dedicated musicians who wish to carry on the tradition of mariachi music. Mariachi Aguilas has performed in virtually every corner of Kern County and even shared the stage with Roberto Tapia, an international Mexican-American singer. Juan Lopez, the group's leader, was born in San Juan Mixtepec, Oaxaca, Mexico but raised in Weedpatch, California. He began playing trumpet in middle school and discovered a passion for mariachi music thanks to the Kern County Youth Mariachi Foundation. Other musicians are Miguel Cortes, Maria Ventura, Daniel Cortes, Christopher Valdovihos, and Alfonso Lopez. Join us on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 4 pm in our Sanctuary for this special event and bring your family, friends, and neighbors! This is a free concert, but door donations are appreciated.
