This beginning beekeeping workshop is perfect for the new beekeeper or a beekeeping looking to hone their skills. This class is hosted by Lindsay Chichester, UNR Extension Educator - Douglas County and Del Barber, EdD. Lindsay and Del are also affiliated with the Douglas County Bee and Pollinator Club, the Douglas County 4-H Bee Club, and the Great Basin Beekeepers of Nevada. February 18, 6:00-8:45p.m. February 19, 8:00a.m.-4:45p.m. Door prizes! Participants will learn: • Beekeeping 101 • Bee biology • Planting for pollinators • Bee health and disease • Hive inspections • Tasty treats from the hive • The sting • And more!! Participants will receive copies of all handouts, snacks, and lunch on Saturday.
