About the Deep River Podcast:
The Deep River Podcast is a program that aims to encourage the exploration and preservation of the Negro Spirituals. Other times known only as “Spirituals,” it is the music borne of the enslaved African-Americans of the United States.
Where did they begin? How were they created in the souls of an oppressed and suffering people? What did they mean then and what do they mean now?
Join host, Paul Anderson II as we explore the history, origin and meaning, behind the Spirituals.
