The Ring of Kerry
Saturday, February 26 at 7 pm
Ring of Kerry is a bursting-with-energy Irish music group that captures the hearts of listeners. All five of its engaging musicians sing and play several instruments. With sounds that range from the thunder of the Irish bodhran drum to the sparkle of the hammered dulcimer; from the lilt and rhythm of fiddle and guitar to the haunting wails of flutes and pennywhistles, the band has developed a blend that is animated, ruggedly beautiful and fun. These musicians get close to their audience, joking, ribbing and laughing along but are respectful and friendly. Audiences always react with great enthusiasm!
The members of the group have a wide breadth of performance experience which makes them versatile. With full sound system, they are sometimes a raucous pub band enticing their crowd to sing along, stomp their feet and slosh a frothy beer while at other times they serenade the audience beautifully, strolling from table to table completely unplugged with acoustic instruments. However, they specialize in and excel at playing energetic and engaging stage concerts.
The Sheninigans Pub pre-event will take place prior to the 7 pm show, from 5-6:30 pm. Join us for some blarney and green beer backstage at State Street Theater!
Tickets will be $25 for general admission and $35 for The Shenanigans Pub (which includes admission to The Ring of Kerry show).
