HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Superintendent of Schools Jody Ian Goeler announced Monday that he is retiring after leading the district for the past eight years, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reported the retirement is effective Jan. 28, per retirement board rules, but Goeler offered to stay longer if the Board of Education wants him to.
Goeler said he made the announcement with "mixed feelings" and that it's been the "honor of my professional career to serve as Superintendent in Hamden," according to the Register.
